BOTTOMS UP ECONOMICS @ THE INTERSECTION

SERIES ONE: VALUE TO INVESTMENT PROPOSITION A BOTTOM-UP ECONOMIC MOVEMENT

SUBJECT: Stimulating Local Consumers:  A 10-Part Series

The special meeting on April 17, 2025, brought together mission-driven representatives from various sectors, including banking, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), the Chamber of Commerce, healthcare, real estate development, and small retail businesses, to discuss the local economic climate. Participants were encouraged to focus on their contributions rather than their titles, and we referred to low-income communities as "Investment Opportunity Communities" (IOCs).

A standout moment occurred when one entrepreneur confidently shared, "I'm a Streetwise Vendor, and I am not homeless anymore!" This highlights the value proposition of transitioning from homelessness to greater self-reliance.
